FDAMH Wellbeing Morning

FDAMH employees enjoy their tour

Twenty-two staff and volunteers from Falkirk’s mental health association (FDAMH) visited the museum on 11 March for a private, off-season tour of the collection as part of their three-monthly programme of wellbeing activities.

Jim guided the tour.  He has a special connection to the association through his wife Norah, who was a key figure in FDAMH’s early development.

Reflecting on the visit, Maxine shared how welcoming the staff were and praised Jim’s engaging knowledge and passion for trains, noting that his enthusiasm sparked her own interest in a subject she had not explored before. Rachel, who has visited the Railway Museum many times with her children, said this was her first private tour and said that Jim’s warmth, knowledge, passion for his subject, and quick‑wit made the experience especially memorable.

Off‑season tours for local community partners are an important part of our work, and we rely on the volunteers who generously give their time to support them.  Sincere thanks to Jim and everyone who has helped to deliver some genuinely memorable days across the winter.
