One day closure of wagon hall for essential repairs

Our wagon hall will be closed on Monday 28th July in order to facilitate roof repairs caused by recent storm damage.

We plan to reopen the space to the public on Tuesday July 29th.  All other areas of the museum will remain open.

While the exhibit is shut, entry fees will be reduced to £3.00 per adult. Children are welcome to visit free of charge.

Virtual visit

While the hall is closed, take a virtual tour with MoSR volunteer and sometime Assistant Yard Master Jim.  Meet Goods Guard McLaren, discover the work that went on in the transship shed, and learn how troublesome trucks got their reputation for mischief.

Put your mac on and grab your lamp.  It’s time to face the railway…

We do regular Yard Master’s tours of the wagon collection and transship shed exhibit and can tailor the experience to suit all ages and interests.  Talk to the team  or see our What’s On page to find out more.
