Shining the spotlight on our archive

MoSR wins CAHG’s ‘Bringing Archives to Life’ short film grant
We are delighted to announce that the MoSR archive has won the Community Archives and Heritage Group’s ‘Bringing Archives to Life’ short film grant.
The grant will enable us to purchase equipment, undertake training with professional filmmakers, and create a short format film to showcase the people who make our archive special, and what they get out of volunteering with us.
Training will be conducted by award winning Glasgow based workers’ co-operative Media co-op who have, for the past 20 years, been supporting communities to express themselves on screen. They have a background in activism and social justice, and operate as a not-for-profit social enterprise. Find out more about their work at media co-op | award-winning media production for social change.
Volunteers Alan, and Andrew, as well as young colleagues from our Youth Group, will be taking up their positions in front of and behind the camera to lead the project, and all the stars who make our archive what it is will be sharing their stories. We can’t wait to see what they create together.

‘Pay Me My Money Down’
In January we will be sharing a case study on funding a sustainable digital archive as part of the last session of 2024/5s ‘Connecting Communities’ webinar series, hosted by SCA and CAHG Scotland in collaboration with ‘Our Heritage Our Stories’. See all past recordings on the SCA YouTube channel.
