Film Launch at 2025 CAHG Conference

MoSR archivists launch a short format film at the first Community Archives and Heritage Group (CAHG) conference on June 19th in Huddersfield to showcase the people who make our archive special.
MoSR Archivists Jim and Vicky attended the first Community Archives and Heritage Group (CAHG) conference on June 19th in Huddersfield. As part of the day’s events, we presented a short format film created by our volunteers to showcase the people who make our archive special, and what they get out of working with us.
The video was created as part of the Community Archives and Heritage Group ‘Bringing Archives to Life’ project in 2024-2025. A generous grant from CAHG enabled us to purchase equipment and undertake training with the award-winning team at media co-op, Glasgow. The piece was planned, storyboarded, narrated and filmed by our archive volunteers. The grant also covered professional editing.
The film was received with much enthusiasm on the day, as were Jim’s thoughtful reflections on the process. Watch what we created here.
Involvement with CAHG has opened up a number of exciting opportunities and partnerships which will help us to build on the success of this project and continue to advocate for our uniquely valuable archive.
The whole museum team is proud of our archivists for producing something that reflects who we are and why we do what we do so genuinely. Congratulations to all concerned.
